Terms of Reference 

 

Online Outreach Intern

WFP Seoul, Republic of Korea 

 

The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) is the world’s largest humanitarian agency fighting hunger worldwide. On average, WFP reaches more than 90 million people with food assistance in 80 countries each year. About 13,500 people work for WFP and 92% of them work in the field. The WFP Seoul office is located at the Seoul National University and the main works include resource mobilization, advocacy and support of WFP field operations. We are seeking qualified persons to apply for the position below.

 

Duties and Accountabilities

 

Under the direct supervision of the team leader of new media team, WFP Seoul Office, the Intern will be assigned with the following responsibility:

 

1.      Translate the contents of WFP Global Website and update WFP Korean website accordingly

2.       Support preparation of contents and organization of menus of WFP Korean website

3.       Support the management of WFP Korean SNS tools including WFP online blog

4.       Assist in preparing online Korean newsletters

5.       Assist in preparing contents for and in follow-up of fundraising proposals, brochures and publications in Korean and English language

6.       Assist in collecting photos, beneficiary stories for Donors and preparing PR materials

7.       Translate requested information in Korean and/or English

8.       Create requested PowerPoint Presentation(PPT) materials for manifold purposes in Korean and/or English language

9.       Perform other related tasks as required

 

Duration of the assignment

 

11 August 2014 to 10 February 2015 (6 months)

 

Intern will work from 09.00 – 17.30 hrs. Candidates who can work full time, five days a week, for six months are preferred. Actual working hours and dates are to be discussed and agreed with the candidate upon assignment.

 

Expected Output/Delivery

ü  Support activating online communication tools and making them important channels to promote WFP and global hunger issues in the Republic of Korea

ü  Assist in establishing efficient and effective online advocacy infrastructure

 

Required qualifications/background


Advanced English and Korean language skills; skills in developing sources for data collection; good computer skills; ability to work in multi-cultural team environment; ability to plan and organize work; resourcefulness, initiative, maturity, tact, advocacy skills.
