굶주림에 울부짖고 영양실조로 죽어가는 아이들. 총격을 무릅쓰고 구호 호송대에 접근하는 사람들, 나뭇잎과 풀로 만든 수프와 동물 사료로 연명하는 사람들. 인도주의적 재앙을 훨씬 더 심각한 상황으로 만들 수 있는 절망과 식량 불안의 수준.
오늘 발표된 끔찍한 기아 수치 뒤에 숨겨진 이미지들은 가자지구 북부 자치구 주민 30만 명이 앞으로 몇 주 안에 기근에 직면할 수 있음을 보여주는 것으로, 세계식량계획(WFP) 팔레스타인 임시 사무소장 매튜 홀링워스가 분쟁으로 폐허가 된 지역을 방문하는 동안 매일 목격한 절망의 장면들입니다.
